I offer home visits to elderly, disabled people, children or carers at no extra cost within a 10 mile radius but this does not include taster sessions.
My ethos is non-profit making.
All my therapies are relaxing and may help to reduce stress; thus easing the symptoms of many conditions including sleeping problems, headaches, IBS or calming. However please note that some therapies may not suit everybody because of contra-indications. However, it is always wise to consult your GP, Nurse or Health Visitor if in any doubt about receiving a therapy and let the therapist know in advance of any condition for which you are being treated medically.

Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a science based on the principle that reflexes in the feet and hands are associated with or connected to all the various systems/organs in the body. They promote overall relaxation, thereby reducing stress which is a contributory factor to most diseases and ailments. It’s estimated that over 75% of all diseases are stress related. It stimulates blood circulation including the nervous and glandular systems. It may also help to restore energy throughout the body and eliminate toxins and restore the natural balance; thus furthering good health and assisting the body to cure itself. Reflexology is an accurate diagnostic aid. A tender or sensitive reflex which may be felt by the client during a treatment, gives an accurate location of any imbalance or congestion within the body. Some doctors now recognise reflexology as an aid to identifying health problems. The treatment is both pleasant and relaxing and may help the body to repair itself. It is suggested to have at least 6 weekly sessions to start with and then maybe a once a week or month top-up. If you book six weekly consecutive sessions you will only pay for five. Most treatments take between 40-60 minutes depending upon the client.
Will any of my therapies hurt?
Some may feel tender areas when releasing tension from muscles or where there are blockages within the body system. What the client feels is normally 'good' pain because tension is being released. Serious/Long Term conditions may cause tenderness by even the softest touch. Gentle therapy usually is fantastic for the client. The idea of massage is to calm stressed areas to induce relaxation and increase circulation. The therapist should always be aware and work according to the client’s needs. If the therapist has any doubt about treating the client; the client will need to get a GP letter and that is why, if in any doubt about having any therapy, do speak with your GP.
How many treatments will I need?
This is a difficult one because we are all individuals and healing responses are different. It depends upon how long symptoms of pain or stresses have been going on. Therapies are normally not an instant fix although that may be all that is required. For instance, headaches may be caused by neck pain and if the massage releases the neck pain it may be completely OK after just one session. The client may feel like having another session but there is no pressure to do so. If you are having a therapy as a treat for yourself and you are generally well; one session may be adequate to balance the body. If you require more treatments to relieve specific symptoms you may need a course of six or more treatments because a one-off wouldn't solve your problems. Anyone requiring regular weekly sessions would pay for five and received the sixth one absolutely free.
How will I feel after a session?
Again this is a difficult one. You may feel fully energised, tired, relaxed, overcome with emotion or may even have a 'healing crisis' which means you may not feel so well after the treatment for up to 24 hours and then the treatment kicks in. These are all normal reactions and I personally have had few people with a healing crisis. It is very important not to eat a heavy mean and to drink water before your treatment. You will be offered water after your treatment. Avoid stimulants on the day of your treatment to allow your body to react positively. Your body reacts to what it thinks you need.
Will I have loads of forms to fill in?
A detailed form is required for anyone having full treatments because your progress will depend upon how much the therapist knows about you and how best to help you, by working on specific areas needing more or less attention and areas to avoid. This form takes about fifteen minutes to fill in and will be done during your first session. However, it will mean that the first full session will be slightly shorter because of the time involved and for you to get used to having the treatment. For Clients having a Taster session, fill in a shorter disclaimer form which only takes a few minutes
Please note that these forms are STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL and do not go on the computer.
What are the benefits of Reflexology?
There could be many including:
Stress Relief - our defences break down when we are stressed which may cause further illness. Reflexology relaxes the body to allow natural healing to take place.
Energy - This may actively increase energy in most people.
Immunity - the immune system can be stimulated and cleansed by the production of endorphins improving its health and reducing the risk of infection and may reduce pain.
Circulation - This may be improved by reducing stress and tension throughout the body and removing waste products and toxins. It encourages the flow of blood to move freely through the body when massage is being given. Nerves are stimulated during massage which will encourage the reduction of pain because the nerve pathways are being opened.
Do you sell Gift Vouchers?
Yes. Vouchers are available from as little as £20 for a taster session. They can be transferred but cannot be refunded.
Do you do Home Visits
Yes, home visits are available to the elderly, disabled, children and/or their carers.
What happens if I’m late or miss an appointment?
If you know you are going to be late always telephone immediately. If someone has booked in after you, your appointment may be shorter. You may, however, be able to change your appointment to later in the day. If neither is possible, a full treatment fee will be required before re-booking. You would not be charged for the cancelled appointment.
